The Perfect Fit
When we talk about the fit of your hearing aid, we are referring to how it feels and sounds in your ear. Having a good fit is important as it will ensure you are hearing comfortably and at the optimal sound level.
In-The-Ear (ITE)
OTC and Prescription
In-The-Ear hearing aids are placed discreetly inside the ear which places the speaker or receiver inside the opening of the ear canal.

Behind-The-Ear (BTE) and Receiver-In-The-Ear
OTC and Prescription
Receiver-In-The-Ear hearing aids have a clear, thin tube that connects the main body of the hearing aid nestled behind the ear to the receiver in the ear. Other Behind-The-Ear models have tubing which connects the body of the aid to the ear piece.

In-The-Ear (ITE)
Custom
Custom In-The-Ear hearing aids are molded precisely to the shape of your ear and are placed discreetly inside the ear canal.

Ear Tips and the Perfect Seal
When wearing your hearing aids, they should not irritate your ears or cause pain. The hearing aids should fit snugly in the ear without being too loose or too tight. The “tip” (sometimes referred to as a “dome”) is the part of the hearing aid that goes inside your ear. It can be changed out to help the fit of the aid and enhance your listening experience. If something doesn’t feel or sound right, changing the tip is often the best first step to better hearing.
Selecting an Ear Tip:
Tips come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The different shapes affect how the sounds filter into the ear. If you use the wrong hearing aid tip, you may experience various sound quality problems such as thin, distorted, or muffled sound. To make sure you’re getting the clearest sound possible, it’s a good idea to think about your commonly visited environments.
